One of the newer hiking treks in the Annapurna region, the Khopra Danda is one of the best treks in the Himalayan region offering some of the best landscape views. The trek passes through numerous ancient and ethnic villages where the true diversity and lifestyle of the numerous communities that live there can be experienced. Owing to the abundance of fauna and flora in the region, left undisturbed by modern settlements, biology researchers love the region.
The trek itself is not that difficult and anyone with a reasonable degree of fitness should be able to experience it without issues. Being one of the shorter treks it is also ideal for first-time trekkers as well as for people with a limitation on time. The amazing mountains in the Annapurna Mountain range including Annapurna I, Nilgiri, Dhauligiri, Tukuche, and Macchapuchhre can be seen beautifully on the trek. On the final days of this walk, you'll rise early at Ghorepani and climb to Poon Hill, a famous vantage point. Early in the morning, you can view the sunrise turning the nearby mountains gold from Poon Hill. Poon Hill is one of the most popular locations for photographs, and we'll snap as many as we like there. Another great location for picturesque views of the Himalayas is close to Mohore Danda.
This trek is a terrific option if you're looking for the ideal week-long hike that is a touch off-the-beaten-path and has beautiful views. It brings together the best that Nepal has to offer, including breathtaking mountain views, pastoral villages, and rice fields that are stacked on top of one another and dip into valleys. The fact that so few people are aware of it is the best part.
The best time for trekking in Khopra Ridge is March through May and September through November. These times of year have cool, pleasant weather, a clear, blue sky, stunning views of the mountains, and beautiful surroundings. Numerous varieties of rhododendrons and magnolias line the entire journey. Additionally, it is the busiest time of year. The months between October and April are regarded as the clearest of the year, offering breathtaking views and landscapes. The monsoon/summer season lasts from June to August. It is stormy, hot, and rainy during this time of year. Therefore, the Khopra Ridge Trek is not recommended during this time of year since the rain clouds obscured much of the scenery and views, which could make the trek unpleasant.

All of your needs will be met, and we are a pleasure to work with. Additionally, we may alter the rooms in our Accessible Adventures-owned hotel in Kathmandu to suit your particular requirements.
While it is the off-season for tourists, our guides have practiced and prepared for the trip through a variety of training programs, taking note of the terrain and routes in the area. We are doing this to provide our visitors with the greatest experience we can during the busiest season of the year.
We have more than 30 years of personal travel experience, which includes peak-climbing and visiting the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal, so we are aware of the challenges that could occur for both you, the traveler, and the guides and porters that we employ throughout your journey. We have been able to customize tours and make the adventure feel more warm and private thanks to our personal experiences in numerous sites, including EBC, ABC, and many more. We provide the best professional services while treating every single one of our customers like family.
The Khopra Trip is a medium-length trek that is rated as being of moderate difficulty. You don't have to be concerned about flight cancellations because there aren't any flights necessary as there are in the Everest region. Anyone who is motivated enough and in decent physical shape may accomplish the hike. Beginner to expert trekkers are encouraged to take part in this great trip because the elevation rise is not too terrible compared to other treks in the area. As a result, the treks in the Annapurna region are known as the easier treks in the Nepalese Himalaya.
When you arrive in Kathmandu, a member of our company's staff will meet and greet you at the airport. Once you are in our care, we will make sure that your travel needs are satisfied. As there are no scheduled events today, we will help you check into the hotel of your choice. You can choose between unwinding in each of your rooms or going for a walk around the neighborhood.
The next morning after breakfast, you will be picked up in a private car and transported to Pokhara, which is situated west of Kathmandu. Along the road, after eating lunch in Malekhu we continue our trip along the Prithvi Highway. Malekhu is highly known for its fried fish because of its close proximity to the Trishuli river. After lunch, travel the remaining distance to Pokhara through Muglin, where the routes to Chitwan and Pokhara diverge. After a long day of travel, we have the evening in Pokhara to explore the city or relax in our hotels.
After breakfast, we take a three-hour drive to Kimche. The scenic drive showcases you amazing views of the mountains such as Lamjing Himal, Mt. Fishtail, Himchuli, and Annapurna South as well as fields and villages. Half the journey is on a pitched road, but for the rest of the portion after Birethanti (where we register ourselves at the tourist check post), we follow a difficult road that snakes through The Modi Khola. Many local villages are crossed on the trail. Many domestic animals like Buffalos, Cows, Goats, and street dogs are seen on the route. After we reach Kimche, we begin our walk to Tadapani.
After less than an hour of Walking from Tadapani, we reach the Ghandruk of Ghandruk. We take lunch amid views of Annapurna South, Himchuli, Fishtail, and Lamjung. Ghandruk is a traditional Gurung village. We walk through stony trails that cross the village passing through a local school. The rest of the trail is through rhododendron and oak forests where we get to hear wild birds and monkeys rummaging in the trees above us. As we ascend, passing through the village of Bhaisi Kharka, we reach Tadapani. Fishtail mountain is seen to be very close to Tadapani. We stay overnight at a small lodge with a common dining hall with a woodfire oven for the cold.
Waking up early we get to see the amazing sunrise amid Fishtail and Annapurna Mountains. We can enjoy our breakfast amid the views of the sunrise in the Himalayas. We start walking afterward towards Dobato. En route, the trail towards Annapurna base camp separates from our trail. The ascent is mostly through the forest which gets completely filled with blooming flowers in Spring. We pass through a teashop called Messar and walking ahead we get to the village of Isharu where we can grab lunch. Ascending further along amazing scenic trails, we reach Dobato. Dobato has one of the best views of Gangapurna, Fishtail, Barasikhar, Dhaulagiri, Dhampus peak, Tabuche, and the previous mountains we saw. We can explore the small village of Dobato also as we come back to our lodging for the night.
We get up early and walk to Muldai view to get a spectacular 360-degree sight of the mountains, which many say is better than most viewpoints in this region also showcasing Nilgiri mountain amid the others we have been seeing. This area is quite unexplored by tourists yet. After we return to our lodge for the evening we grab breakfast and head towards Khopra Danda amid ridge trails also where both sides of the ridge showcase amazing views of valleys and mountains. Vegetation is sparse on the trail and wild animals like the Thar can be seen roaming around. If we are lucky we can see the Sloth Bear also on the trail. Multiple birds can be seen flying around. As we walk, we cross the Bairi Kharka village. There are two options to move forward from Bairi Kharka, one route being more dangerous and slippery due to ice and the other being safer. We take the safer route as we see views of the villages we will cross tomorrow after crossing Khopra Danda. Glacial streams can be seen while walking also. We cross Bhankharka (Chistipang) where we grab lunch and ascend quite steeply to Khopra Danda where we stay at the lodge there. The sunset amid the Himalayan peaks is beautiful to watch from Khopra Danda. Many rooms are shared at the lodge in Khopra Danda.
As we wake up early morning on the naked peak of Khopradanda, we are greeted by amazing views of the sunrise that is seen from the ridge village of Khopra Danda. Mount Dhaulagiri, Dhampus Peak, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and others are among the numerous peaks seen from Khopra Danda. After breakfast, we move towards Khayer lake, a beautiful lake situated in the hills. We walk stony stairs to the lake. Along the way, we see many small temporary sheds for goats and small ponds and lakes including a famous one called a hidden lake. Thar can also be seen here. As the altitude is high, some symptoms of altitude sickness are common. Hydration should be a priority as the effects of altitude set in. We ascend slowly all the way to Khayer lake which houses a small temple also. This Lake lies at the base of the Annapurna and Barasikhar mountains. As such 360 degree views can be seen. Today we have to pack lunch for the day as we will have lunch at the Lake. After lunch and taking in wonderful views, we head back to our hotel and stay overnight. As this day is quite tiring, its best you relax in your rooms.
Waking up to the same views, we grab breakfast and descend from Khopra danda on the same route to Chistepang. Vegetation starts to get dense as we descend. We cross a suspension bridge to reach Swanta and are greeted with amazing views of the mountains. As Swanta is a larger village, we can explore the village. The local life of the village of Nepal is especially highlighted in Swanta. Farming is one of the main occupations of the people here and plenty of domestic animals can be seen. A local school is also present in the village. The village will be in full bloom in the spring.
Today, we will investigate the magnificence of Khopra Danda and Khayer Lake. Khayer Lake is an excellent lake arranged at high elevation and reaches in pristine or immaculate excellence. In the wake of investigating the lake if time lets us then we will visit a few towns and enjoy the rest day. Overnight in Khopra Danda. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.
As we ascend to Poonhill early to view the sunrise through stone steps, we see better views of the mountains. As we reach the top of poonhill, we view the sunrise amid one of the most famous sites in the western Himalayas. We get a 360 view of the mountains including Dhaulagiri and Annapurna here. We can take tea or coffee while admiring the view from Poonhill. We go back to Ghorepani for breakfast and walk the same route to Poonhill. Crossing Poonhill, we walk through forest trails amid hills to reach Mohore Danda. Sheds can be seen en route here also.
We rest for the night here at Mohore Danda at a simple lodge run by the local community.
You will be greeted to mountain views from your bed as you wake up. After breakfast, we begin our descent to Ulleri. Mohore lies at the peak of the hill. We walk through forest trails of rhododendron. As we walk we reach Nange Thanti. Multicolored flowers deck the trail during spring. If we’re hungry, lunch can be taken at Nange Thanti or later at Ban Thanti. We take the famous stone stair descent route from here to Ulleri. We can explore the large village of Ulleri including the local schools. We stay overnight at Ulleri.
The next day after breakfast, we descent the same stone steps that we stopped. There are said to be 3300 stairs in total which are being climbed by the tourists wanting to reach Ghorepani. As we descend, we see local tea houses, terraced farmlands, and so on. We cross a suspension bridge and reach Tikhe Dhunga. Crossing the village of Tikhe Dhunga we reach the village of Hile. From Hile we cross Sudame to reach Bire Thanti. We grab lunch at Birethanti, where we register our exit at the tourist check post. After this we descend back to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara. We can explore the large town of Pokhara with numerous fantastic locations to explore. You can extend your stay here also and visit Pokhara and Lumbini.
Today after breakfast we start our journey back to Kathmandu. We go to Kathmandu on the Prithvi highway, which follows the Trishuli river the entire way. On the way, we stop for lunch once again at either Malekhu or Muglin. After a long travel, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Kathmandu in the evening when we arrive.
Our airport representative will get you to Kathmandu's international airport three hours before the departure of your aircraft so you may fly out of Nepal. We hope that your experiences trekking Khopra Danda and the places of Poon Hill and Mohore Danda will provide you with lifelong memories of gorgeous Nepal, the breathtaking Himalayan beauty, and the cultural experience you had. We also want you to feel triumphant when you go home.
