Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) KathmanduUpon your arrival, our airport representative welcomes you at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. We take you to the hotel in our private tourist vehicle. Then, we schedule per trip meeting at the office with our trekking guide in the afternoon. If you arrive earlier than 4 pm, our travel consultant will hold a pre-trip meeting about the EBC trek on our office. But if you arrive after 4 pm, our trekking guide will give you a pre trek briefing about the Everest trekking on the same day. We highly encourage you to ask any questions you have about the trip during the meeting. Overnight at a hotel. No meals included.
Day 02:Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2652m/8699ft) Walking Distance - 8 km, Duration: 3 hours Early morning transfer to the airport for Lukla flight. The flight to Lukla is a lifetime experience in itself. The airfield is at high evaluation and the difference between the two ends of the runway is about an exceptional 60 meters only. Trek to Phakding with an arresting, green landscape with the view of Kusum Kangraru. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 03:Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,284ft)expand Walking Distance: 6-7 hours (10.5 km) trek After having breakfast in Phakding, we trek along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River crossing suspension bridges en route. Hereafter we hike through a beautiful pine forest towards the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park for a brief permit check. Then, we continue trek in Namche trails, climbing steeply upward beholding the sights of sacred mani stones, colorful prayer flags, raging glacial rivers and beautiful mountains. The Everest Base Camp short trek for today comes to a close as you reach Namche Bazaar, the beautiful sherpa town where we stay overnight at a guest house there. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.
Day 04: First Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazar (3,440m/11,284ft)expand Walking Distance: 4-5 hours (6 km) trek Namche Bazar is the first acclimatization spot en route to Everest Base Camp. This popular mountain town is a busy trading hub of native Sherpa people where you can shop mountain gears and clothes, buy local handicrafts, find hotels, guest houses, and visit museums and many more. We spend acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. We visit Sherpa Cultural Museum to explore the history and culture of the Sherpa people and their unique traditions and customs. Even more, we hike up to Syangboche Airport (the highest altitude airport of Nepal) and Hotel Everest View, the highest placed hotel in the world at 13,000 feet. This place offers astounding views of Mt Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and neighboring mountain peaks. Overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.
Day 05:Trek to Tengboche (3,860m/12,661ft)expand Walking Distance: 5-6 hours (10 km) trek Our trek starts after having breakfast in the morning. We embark on a journey through the forest to Kenjoma where the trail connects with Khumjung. The trek continues descending towards Dudh Koshi River, followed by steep ascent towards Tengboche. On the way, behold the sights of rushing glacial river, beautiful rhododendron forest, and cliff top monasteries. Also, we pay a visit to Tengboche monastery, the famed and largest monastery in the Khumbu region. You will discover powerful spiritual experience, Buddhist celebrations and enactments there. Depending upon arrival time, we will observe a prayer ceremony performed by Lamas either in the morning or evening. From there, we enjoy the breathtaking and stunning view of beautiful mountains- Mt Everest, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kwangde, Tawachee and many others. Overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 06:Trek to Dingboche (4,410m/14,465ft)expand Walking Distance: 5-6 hours (11 km) trek Today we trek through trails through coniferous forest to Deboche. From there, we pass suspension bridge over Imja Khola river, and climb uphill towards Pangboche village. From there, we follow the trails towards the Imja Valley, Lobuche River and finally ascent to quaint traditional Sherpa village, Dingboche. En route, we come across colorful mani stones, prayer flags and breathtaking view of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. Overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.
Day 07:Second Acclimatization Day at Dingboche (4,410m/14,465ft)expand Walking Distance: 4-5 hours (4.5 km) trek This would be your second acclimatization day that requires about 6 hours of trekking to an altitude of 5100m. After breakfast, you ascend Nagerjun (5100m), a hill located on the flanks of the Chhukung valley directly above Dingboche. The main aim is to climb high and sleep low. The foot path becomes steep at times, resulting in a physically strenuous day. Ascending the hill could take up to 5 hours at altitude. From this altitude there are good views of Lobuche East (6119m), Lobuche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m) and Ama Dablam (6856m). On a clear day, you could even see Makalu, the world’s fifth highest mountain, including great views of the Pheriche Valley. After a short rest, you start the descent back to Dingboche and the walk at altitude takes about 2 hours. After lunch, take a well-deserved rest, as afternoon temperatures could drop rapidly as the sun sets over the mountain tops. You will also spend a second night in Dingboche. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.
Day 08:Trek to Lobuche (4,910m/16,105ft)expand Walking Distance: 5-6 hours (8 km) trek The trail gradually goes uphill to Dughla offering stunning view of Tawachee and Cholatse. As you pass through trail, we come across the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. En route, we observe the stone memorials with prayer flags built in the memory of perished climbers. Then, we trek towards Lobuche village; from here we observe a close view of mountain peaks like Nuptse, Lobuche and Pumori. Overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included
Day 09:Trek to Gorak Shep (5,140m/16,860ft) and visit Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft)expand Walking Distance: 7-8 hours (12 km) trek This is a great day, a challenging yet fulfilling trek. Prepare yourself for trekking to the base of the world’s tallest mountain- Mount Everest. First we headed to Gorak Shep. From here the strenuous trek continues along the alpine trails, moving through rivers, rocky dunes, and moraines. En route to Everest Base Camp, we observe a spectacular view of Khumbu Glacier and Khumbu Icefall. From there, you will have a much better view of incredible peaks like Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Khumbutse, Pumori, among others. Also, we have a chance to meet expedition team and climbers, camping for summiting Mount Everest especially during the spring season. It’s time for celebrating beauty and wilderness of the Himalayas and experience breathtaking mountain views. Meanwhile, we return back to Gorak Shep and stay overnight there. Day 10:Hike to Kala Patthar (5550m/18,204ft) and descend to Pheriche (4,240m/13,908ft)expand Walking Distance: 6-7 hours (12 km) trek In the early morning, we hike to Kalapatthar for sunrise view over the Himalayas. This place offers the best viewpoint for observing panoramic view of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Chagatse, Pumori and many more. Finally experience the fascinating trip of lifetime and profound phenomenon of mountains, standing on the highest elevation of the entire trip, 5555m. From there, we descent to Gorak Shep for breakfast and continue hiking towards Pheriche. Overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included
Day 11:Trek to Namche (3,440m/11,284ft)expand Walking Distance: 7-8 hours (19 km) trek It is comparatively an easy downhill trek from Pheriche to Tengboche. After an hour of scaling a hill, by late afternoon you will reach Namche Bazaar. Soak in the experiences and take a good night’s rest. Overnight in Namche. Day 12:Trek Lukla (2,840m/9,316ft)expand Walking Distance: 6-7 hours (18.5 km) trek This is the final leg of our epic and adventurous trek in the Everest region as we retrace the same path back to Lukla. Now is the time to reflect back on this adventurous trip of your lifetime and celebrate our extraordinary achievement. We can spend our free time stroll around the Lukla village, and enjoying the sightseeing. We close the sojourn with dinner in the evening. Have fun, dance, celebration drink with your team members. Overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.
Day 13:Fly back to Kathmandu or Manthali from Lukla The scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu is like a dessert after a heavy dinner. After landing in Kathmandu you will be escorted to your hotel. Take rest or go shopping for souvenirs. There are shops around the vicinity of your hotel selling handicraft items and locally made trinkets and clothes. Ason, the oldest market in Kathmandu also lies a few hundred meters from your hotel. You can shop for spices, tea, brass statues, and decorative jars in this market. If you wish to take a guided cultural tour do let us know. In the evening, celebrate the completion of your adventure with a complimentary farewell dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu. Day 14:Transfer to the International Airport for your final departure The 14 day Everest Base Camp trek adventure comes to an end on this day.
