On this day tour you will visit 2 different cultural heritage sites which are listed as World Heritage by UNESCO for its rich culture, temples, mela, wood and stone artwork.
After a 45 minutes drive from Kathmandu city center, you will reach at the ancient temple of Changu Narayana which is located on a high hilltop. This shrine is dedicated to Lord Visnu and considered as the oldest temple in Nepal.
The temple is full of magnificent art works in metal and wood. In fact, it is one of the finest examples of Nepalese architecture. The first epigraphic evidence of Nepalese history found in the temple premises during the reign of the Licchavi King Mandeva dating back to 464 A.D. shows that Changu Narayan had already been established as a sacred site in the 3rd century A.D.
We then drive to Bhaktapur, an ancient Newari town, the third largest city in Kathmandu valley and was once the capital of Nepal during the great Malla Kingdom until the second half of the 15th century.
Bhaktpur is the home of traditional art and architecture, historical monuments and craft works, magnificent windows, pottery and weaving industries, excellent temples, beautiful ponds, rich local customs, culture, religion, festivals, musical mystic and so on. It is still an untouched as well as preserved ancient city that is itself a world to explore for tourists.
Day Tour - 4 - 5 hours : We pick up from the hotel you stay and take to the heritage and cultural sites where you can meet local people, enjoy the landscape and mountain views. After the end of the trip, we will drop you back to your hotel.
